The Rabari 2 rug by Nanimarquina captivates with its charming design, featuring symmetrical geometric patterns and striking graphic details that invite closer inspection. Designed by Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien, the rug is made from New Zealand wool in India using the traditional Sumak technique. This method, which blends embroidery with weaving, involves twisting the yarn around the warp threads, resulting in a rug with a thick, durable surface. The Rabari 2 is not only a visually appealing addition to any space but also a robust choice, suitable for both private homes and public areas as well.

Designer
Doshi Levien is a London-based design office founded in 2000 by Nipa Doshi (b. 1971) and Jonathan Levien (b. 1972), who met each other while studying at London’s Royal College of Art. Before moving to London, Doshi studied at India’s National Institute of Design, and Levien, originally from Scotland, has training in fine cabinet making and industrial design. Doshi Levien’s designs include furniture, fashion, lighting, technology and homeware, combining creative aesthetics of visual culture with precise industrial techniques. A fine example of their style is the Uchiwa armchair designed for HAY.
