Walton Ford

American artist Walton Ford (b. 1960) is known for his large-scale watercolour paintings that depict animals in rich, often unsettling detail. Inspired by traditional natural history illustrations, Ford’s work combines realism with dark humour, exploring themes of colonialism, environmental exploitation and human-animal relationships. His intricate scenes reveal deeper narratives, challenging viewers to consider the complex connections between nature and culture.
