Description

New Works' Tenon is a compact yet visually striking lounge chair, blending soft and hard surfaces with a mix of angular and smooth shapes. Made from solid oak, the Tenon lounge chair gets its name from the mortise and tenon joints of its frame. The gracefully curved wooden parts are finished with veneer, while the fabric-upholstered seat is cushioned with plush foam for added comfort. With its elegant, slender design, the Tenon lounge chair works beautifully as a companion to a sofa set or as a cosy seat in a reading nook, and its attractive back makes it a stunning choice for placement in the middle of a room.

Omayra Maymó

Omayra Maymó is a Spanish architect and designer based in both Madrid and Copenhagen. She founded her studio in 2016, focusing on her independent design work since 2020.

Maymó’s designs, be it accessories, lighting or furniture, are characterized by a form that goes beyond function. She wants her designs to tell stories and to evoke emotions. Therefore, Maymó’s work is often a combination of two seemingly contrasting approaches: even as an industrial designer, she aims to let the material determine the form to bring a sense of depth also to the manufacturing process.
