Designed by Verner Panton in 1969 and today manufactured by Verpan, the VP Globe pendant is a unique example of Panton’s skills as a lighting designer. VP Globe consists of a transparent acrylic sphere and five reflectors suspended by steel chains. The acrylic dome creates a magical bubble around the matte-brushed aluminium reflectors that play with the surrounding shapes and the orange accent colour – a shade that is very typical for the designer. VP Globe is a skilful study about the interaction between form, light and colour, and it catches the eye for instance above the dining table or in the living room.
