Fritz Hansen's Maluma pendant lamp consists of a moss green frosted glass dome and a suspension in a matching hue. The coloured frosted glass filters the light in a soft, ambient manner, while the open bottom provides direct downward light – this double function makes Maluma perfect both above the dining table and in the bedroom or living room, for example, where more atmospheric lighting may be desired.
The glass dome of the Maluma pendant is mouth-blown, which means its hue and thickness may vary slightly from one luminaire to another. Handmade glass items may also feature small air bubbles or other differences that contribute to the unique beauty and truly individual nature of mouth-blown glass. The luminaire was designed by Japanese designer Fumie Shibata.
