Description

FÓLK Reykjavík's Lava vase is not only fascinatingly beautiful but also sustainably made – 100% recycled glass is used in the production of this outstanding item. Not surprisingly, the Swedish design collective NAVET that created the gorgeous glass vase specialises in using leftover materials from the manufacturing process.

Each piece is unique in its appearance, as the Lava vases are made in a small Swedish glass workshop by pouring molten glass into an open mold, where the material assumes its final shape as it pleases. Imagine, in other words, no one else has a vase exactly like yours!

Inspired by the aesthetics of lava flows, the vase is a perfect fit for the Icelandic firm FÓLK Reykjavík, whose mission is to steer the design industry in a more sustainable direction. Making the bond even greater, the island nation is known for its ruggedly beautiful natural landscapes, complemented by volcanoes that dot the sky with clouds of smoke and wow with the occasional lava flow. Spruce up your home décor with this statement piece that might even spark conversations about design's role in enabling the green transition.

NAVET

NAVET is a Swedish design collective that kicked off its journey in 2012, founded by Lina Huring, Maria Johansson, Helena Svensson and Cecilia Wahlberg. The name is an acronym that stands for New And Very Exciting Things – simply admire their work and you will surely not be left wondering why. With studios in both Stockholm and Milan, the company takes sustainability seriously, especially through the use of recycled materials in its projects.
