Description

Iittala's Vakka is a minimalist storage box that can be used for an infinite number of purposes. Made of compressed plywood, Vakka is stackable: several boxes can be used to create a custom bedside table or a side table. In the kids' room, Vakka holds toys and treasures, and in the hallway, it hides your hats, scarves or mittens. In a small kitchen, Vakka serves as an extra storage space for dishware.

When developing Vakka, designers Klaus and Elina Aalto set out to create an aesthetically pleasing storage solution that would fit countless needs and spaces – and above all, would make everyday storage a little bit more beautiful. Vakka boxes not only serve as storage items but also as interior elements that don't need to be hidden in a closet. The Vakka series was awarded the prestigious iF Golden Design award in 2014.
