Vitra's Wire Stool is a bar chair adaptation of Charles and Ray Eames' classic metal chair. The Wire Stool features a pleasantly curved shell seat that provides excellent back support for extended dinners or meetings, and the four-legged base includes a footrest for added comfort. The high version of the bar stool is designed to fit standing-height tables.
The Wire Chair was created in 1951 when Charles and Ray Eames, inspired by Buckminster Fuller's work, set out to design a lightweight and durable chair using as little material as possible. The most functional solution was a square-shaped grid made of steel wire. With its airy and ergonomic design, the Wire Chair brings a fresh, graphic edge to any interior, year after year.
