Design House Stockholm’s Sand plate is made from high-fired stoneware. With a diameter of 19 cm, the plate is ideal for serving breakfast or entrées or to be used as a smaller dinner plate.
Designed by Carina Seth Andersson, the Sand tableware was created originally for the restaurant NM& at Stockholm’s Nationalmuseum. Seth Andersson thought that the tableware’s sandy hue is reminiscent of the museum building’s colour and wanted to leave the tableware partially unglazed – this way the tableware retains some of the material’s soft, raw feel and varying shade.
Please note that the Sand collection was updated slightly in 2022: older Sand tableware has a small NM& logo engraved on its surface, while the newer ones are not engraved.
