The Double Bubble outdoor lamp is a weather-proof version of Eero Aarnio's distinctive lighting design introduced originally in 2003. Characterised by a playful, almost cheeky expression typical of Aarnio's creations, Double Bubble is celebrated as a masterpiece of modern Finnish design.
Like its indoor sibling, the Double Bubble outdoor luminaire is fitted with three light sources to ensure an even distribution of light: there's one in each bubble and one in the leg. Additionally, the outdoor lamp has a large metal plate at the bottom to stabilise it in outdoor environments and to allow it to be mounted to the decking, for example. Double Bubble, or Tupla Kupla in Finnish, measures a whopping 130 cm in height, so it is like an illuminated – and illuminating – sculpture for the terrace, patio, balcony or garden.
