Artek's Domus lounge chair was designed by Finnish interior architect and designer Ilmari Tapiovaara in 1946. The oak veneered birch plywood chair has a comfortable and ergonomic design with a high backrest, making it a great fit in a reading nook or by a coffee table.

The interior and furniture design of the complex was the first large-scale project for Ilmari Tapiovaara and his wife Annikki Tapiovaara. Domus was designed to be a multifunctional chair that would meet the diverse needs of student housing. Nowadays manufactured by Artek, the chair has become a beloved classic of Finnish design.
The frame of this Domus lounge chair is made of lacquered oak, and its plywood seat and backrest have been overlaid with beautiful oak veneer.
