Oiva Toikka’s Rospuutto owl is an adorable, wide-eyed baby owl. The owl got its name from the Finnish word "rospuutto" which refers to a time when travelling is difficult or impossible due to poor road conditions. This little owl is undeniably so adorable that you won't even want to leave your home when you stare at it!
Birds by Toikka collection's first glass birds were designed in 1972 by Professor Oiva Toikka, renowned for his unique contribution to Finnish art glass over the past half-century. Each bird is mouth-blown, making them one-of-a-kind – the hues might be darker or lighter or the owl's eyes larger, or pointing in a different direction, for example. After all, real owls are also unique creatures of nature! The passing of time enhances the value of these art objects – that is why Birds by Toikka are cherished and valued gifts and irresistible to collectors around the world. All owls are signed with the artist’s name.
