Description

New Works' Atlas coffee table borrows both its name and its look from ancient Greece. The table, designed by John Astbury, got its appearance from Greek architecture and the classical order, and the name comes from the titan called Atlas. And indeed, the legs of the table are like the shoulders of a titan, which, according to mythology, were destined to hold up the heavens for eternity. The strong table legs and thin tabletop create a striking contrast that will charm in the home living room as well as in public spaces.

The strong coffee table is made of unfilled travertine, which has been used as a building material since ancient times. As travertine is a natural material, its colours and textures are always unique and vary from one table to the next. Unfilled travertine also has small holes and hollows on its surface, which add more character and roughness to the look of the Atlas table.
