Marimekko's Pitkospuut cotton fabric is adorned with Jenni Tuominen's pattern, where the shapes originally cut on paper are organized into a soft, graphic composition. Pitkospuut, Finnish for duckboards, was inspired by the duckboards leading to the Sikosaari bird tower in Porvoo, where the designer often strolls.
Printed in Helsinki, Finland, the Pitkospuut cotton fabric is coloured in hues of sand and dark blue. The fabric is perfect for sewing a custom tablecloth or curtains, for example.
