The Nychair X rocking chair is a Japanese design classic that combines a foldable metal frame, a cotton fabric seat and wooden armrests, resulting in an effortlessly light and airy aesthetic. The durable sailcloth moulds to the contours of the sitter, and if needed, the entire seat fabric can be cleaned or replaced. Takeshi Nii

Takeshi Nii (1920–2007) was a Japanese designer who became known for his iconic, foldable Nychair X lounge chairs. A third-generation owner of a company that produced Kendo equipment in Tokushima Prefecture, Nii designed his first Nychair X lounge chair in 1970. The Nychair X has received several prestigious design awards over the years and is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
