Description

Carl Hansen & Søn’s MG501 Cuba lounge chair is a perfect representation of functional furniture design. Designed by Morten Gøttler in 1997, the Cuba chair offers a great expression of sculptural shapes and functionality in an extremely sleek form: the lounge chair features a foldable solid wood frame a durable, slightly flexible paper cord seat.

Due to its lightweight foldable frame, the Cuba lounge chair is well suited for everyday use or as an extra seat at home or holiday home. The chair is easy to store folded without taking much space or even hung on a wall.

Morten Gøttler

Morten Gøttler (b. 1944) is a renowned, self-taught Danish designer, who is known especially for his mid-century style designs and great understanding of wood. Copenhagen-born Gøttler opened his own design studio in 1972 and has since created numerous designs ranging from furniture and lighting design to toys, art, packaging and graphic design. Gøttler’s aesthetics are defined by exquisite materials, fine details and an emphasis on comfort and timelessness.
