Aarikka's Metso sculpture is Kaija Aarikka's interpretation of the western capercaillie, the largest existing grouse species. Originally released in 1966, Metso has been reintroduced with an updated design and materials. Proudly standing on a brass leg, the wooden bird is made from light-coloured maple and birch. The fan-like tail is composed of Aarikka's signature wooden balls. This wooden capercaillie makes a memorable gift or decorative piece that brings joy for decades to come.
Each Metso sculpture is handcrafted in Finland.
