"My father once told me that my world is like a black and white image, but I guess my heart has found its own colors."
Just Small Hiccups by Finnish visual artist Anni Hanén invites you to a childhood landscape, a space between the past and the present. The series was created when Hanén moved back to her childhood home with her own family: the places and landscapes of personal memories expand into a visual poem that portrays the feelings of growing up, being part of a family, as well as the universal desire to understand life.
Helsinki-based artist Anni Hanén (b. 1981) began the Just Small Hiccups series in 2012 and since then, the series has been displayed in several exhibitions and international photo festivals.
