The Pino butter box, designed by the Finnish master cabinetmaker Antrei Hartikainen, features a clean-lined design and vivid wooden surface. Pino was originally designed for storing and serving butter in the way they used to do it in the olden days. Traditionally, butter is placed in butter boxes without packaging, and that is also the idea with Pino. This means that a regular butter or margarine package will not fit inside it. In addition to butter, the characterful little box is great for storing small treasures around the home.
Hand-crafted in Finland, the Pino boxes are part of the Lokal Kollektion series by the Helsinki-based gallery Lokal. The collection consists of unique, locally-manufactured products made in small-scale production, many even by hand in the designers' own workshops.
