Description

Skagerak’s Fionia stool represents a modern interpretation of the traditional x-chair. Designed by Jens H. Quistgaard in 1986, the folding stool is also suitable to be used as a bedside table or a small side table. The Fionia stool is made of FSC certified teak.

As the wood is untreated the surface will change colour over time and eventually turn into a beautiful silvery grey. To maintain untreated wood, it is a good idea to use sandpaper (grit 120-150) once or twice a year.

Jens Quistgaard

Jens Quistgaard (1919–2008) was a Danish designer who is known especially for his contributions to the Scandinavian modernism of the 1950s and 1960s. Quistgaard began his career at his father’s sculptor’s studio, later he became an apprentice for Georg Jensen, and finally the chief designer for the American company Dansk Designs, where he worked for several decades. During his career, Quistgaard was awarded many notable design awards, including the Lunning Prize and gold and silver medals at Milan Triennial in 1954.
