The Aalto Design Collection book introduces you to collector Pertti Männistö’s extensive Aalto collection, which consists of more than a thousand designs by Aino and Alvar Aalto from the years 1928–1965. The world’s largest private Aalto collection includes furniture, lighting, glassware and smaller items ranging from world-famous classics to rarities.
Aalto Design Collection provides a captivating insight into the early production of Aalto furniture, which was characterised by craftsmanship and traditional manufacturing methods – that is why the pieces were often quite unique. With its rich illustrations and 500 pages, the book presents Männistö’s collection almost in its entirety, including original designs from the Paimio Sanatorium, as well as lesser-known variations and prototypes of Aaltos’ designs.
