Jordi Garcés

Jordi Garcés (b.1945) is a celebrated Spanish designer and architect who has also created an extensive career as a professor. Garcés, who studied at the Barcelona School of Architecture (ETSAB), graduated as an architect in 1970 and is best known for a number of major renovation and restoration projects.

After graduating, Garcés worked in the office of Oriol Bohigas, where he met architect Enric Sòria. The decades-long collaboration with Sòria bore unforgettable fruit – the duo's memorable imprint, firmly connected to the ideals of rationalism, can still be admired today in both the streetscape of Barcelona and their lighting designed for Santa & Cole, among others.
