Designer
Doshi Levien is a London-based design office founded in 2000 by Nipa Doshi (b. 1971) and Jonathan Levien (b. 1972), who met each other while studying at London’s Royal College of Art. Before moving to London, Doshi studied at India’s National Institute of Design, and Levien, originally from Scotland, has training in fine cabinet making and industrial design. Doshi Levien’s designs include furniture, fashion, lighting, technology and homeware, combining creative aesthetics of visual culture with precise industrial techniques. A fine example of their style is the Uchiwa armchair designed for HAY.
