Marten Baas cutlery set by valerie objects brings a touch of festive to even the most typical everyday dinner. Made of brushed steel, the cutlery is uniquely playful and asymmetrical in its design language – someone could even describe it with the word “imperfect”. The only danger with these charmingly distorted cutleries is that you almost forget to eat your feast! The set comes in a wooden gift box containing sixteen pieces of cutlery: forks, knives, spoons and small spoons, four pieces of each.

Designer
Maarten Baas (b. 1978) is one of the most influential Dutch designers of the 21st century. Baas started his studies at Design Academy Eindhoven in 1996 and became known for his playful, intellectual and rebellious approach that often blurs the boundaries between art and design. Baas’ work ranges from product design to concepts and installations and from theatre to architecture and interior design. Baas has collaborated with many exclusive brands such as Louis Vuitton, Swarovski and Dior, and his works have been included in the collections of MoMA New York, Victoria & Albert Museum London and Musée des Arts Décoratifs Paris, to name a few.
