Designer
Danish designer Ejvind A. Johansson (b. 1923) was a pioneer of functional modernism who built upon Børge Mogensen’s straightforward style. Johansson studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts graduating in 1949, and in 1956 he became the head designer of the Danish furniture factory Fredericia. Johansson aimed towards clear, distinctive and durable everyday design – Fredericia’s wooden chairs are great examples of his principles.
