Aarikka's Pässi XL is an oversized version of Kaija Aarikka's beloved wooden ram figurine. Made from oak and maple, Pässi XL measures 36 cm in length and weighs four kilograms, ensuring it stands out as a charming centrepiece that captures attention from afar.

The Pässi figurine, designed by Kaija Aarikka, is a Finnish design classic that symbolises perseverance and determination. Each wooden Pässi ram figurine is handmade in Finland and requires the work of up to ten skilled artisans. The figurines of the Pässi collection, with their smooth surfaces and elegant, natural hues, make lovely interior accessories and valued gifts that are sure to stand the test of time.

Kaija Aarikka

Kaija Aarikka (1929-2014) is best known for her jewellery and home designs made of wooden beads, designed for Aarikka, a company she founded in 1954 with her husband Erkki Ruokonen. Even though most Aarikka products are made of wood, Kaija Aarikka was very broadminded when it came to experimenting with different materials; she graduated as a textile artist and often used materials like glass or silver in her designs. In 1994, the beloved designer received the prestigious Pro Finlandia Medal and in 1999, she was awarded the Finnish honorary title of ’kauppaneuvos’ by the President of the Republic of Finland.
