Cutter bench, designed by Niels Hvass in 1999 for the Planken Ud exhibition at Designmuseum Danmark, was the first piece of Skagerak’s Cutter collection. The clean-lined design of Cutter bench comprises a simple wooden frame and slats connected by finger joints. Hvass drew his inspiration for the continuous shape of the base from Bauhaus movement’s use of metal tubes. Today, the Cutter collection features numerous new designs from a stool to a mirror and storage elements that share the timeless and airy design of the original bench.
