Description

You might find Flos' Skynest pendant on the pages of a dictionary under the letter M – that's just how mind-boggling it is. Marcel Wanders Studio's technically and visually unmatched lamp is more like a work of art than a luminaire, but at the same time, it offers the most pleasant, carefully thought-out lighting for any space. The Skynest luminaire is designed not only for the present but also for the future – all parts can be replaced if necessary and they can be recycled separately.

The Skynest lamp consists of a captivating ensemble of intersecting elements covered with recycled polyester fabric, some of which also serve as the lamp's light source. The efficient LED modules have a white underside to optimize the amount of light and glare-flee reflection. The unique character of the Skynest lamp is revealed to its fullest when viewed directly from below – the mind-bending union of light and shadow together with the shade unravelling like a flower in full bloom make the lamp an unforgettable addition to the interior.

Today, the studio of Wanders employs several dozen design experts and creates designs for well-known brands as Alessi, KLM, Swarovski, and Puma. Wanders is also the co-founder of the design brand Moooi, known for innovative, out-there furniture, and Creative Director of Finnish-based design brand Basta.

Many consider Wanders as anomaly of the design world and he has made it his mission to ”create an environment of love, live with passion and make our most exciting dreams come true.”
