New Works’ Blæhr vase is what happens when beautiful design and professional artisanship meet. Sculptural vase delights both filled with flowers and empty.
DANISH NEW WORKS is best known for its material-driven and sculptural design, appreciation of artisanship and innovative experiments. In the design brand's new Blæhr vase, these qualities come together in an enchanting way.
The stunning vase is a collaboration between Danish designer Linnea Ek Blæhr and glassblower Anders Raad. Their friendship is the perfect example of what can happen when two skilled professionals combine their talents: a young designer's visions meet an artisan's decades-long experience. The designer challenges the handicrafter with her ideas, the crafter assists and guides – and in the end, something extraordinary is born that neither could have achieved alone.
The glass vase is made by mouth-blowing in a wooden mould, which changes shape and grows with each new vase, thereby changing the figure of the vase next to being blown. The air bubbles trapped in the glass and the traces of the wooden mould give each Blæhr vase a unique, irregular look that is never completely identical to the other.
Blæhr vase is available in two sizes and three beautiful translucent colours. The gorgeous vase dazzles filled with minimalist branches or impressive floral arrangements but also serves as an eye-catching decorative object when empty.
