The Aalto vase is a true icon of Finnish design, capturing hearts worldwide since the 1930s. Alvar Aalto's legendary creation debuts this fall in a stunning new green hue inspired by Finnish sand.
THE ORGANIC, FLOWING FORM of Iittala's Aalto vase has become a symbol of Finnish design, adorning homes and public spaces worldwide. Created by the legendary designer and architect Alvar Aalto, the vase made its global debut in different sizes and colors at the World Fair in Paris in 1937, and it has since become one of the most famous glass objects in the entire world.
Over time, the Aalto vase has been produced in various sizes and embellished with different hues. The latest release for fall 2024 showcases a striking shade of green, inspired by the natural sands of Karvia, Finland.
The vase is mouth-blown in a traditional wooden mold which gives it a uniquely textured surface and a one-of-a-kind finish. Made from Finnish sand, this Aalto vase is a true collector’s item with only 1,000 numbered pieces of the classic vase and 100 pieces of bigger vase produced.
