Are you ready to fall in love with Flos’ simple yet distinctive Bilboquet lamp? According to the designer Philippe Malouin, this modern table lamp particularly charms millennials and Generation Z, but its versatile design adapts to any space and attracts fans no matter the generation.
THE LATEST GEM from lighting brand Flos is the minimalist and personal Bilboquet table lamp, which captivates with its playful design and fantastic versatility. The luminaire is available in several captivating color options that certainly don't diminish its charm!
In all its simplicity, the Bilboquet table lamp consists of two colourful cylinders connected by a magnetic ball acting as a joint. The shade rotates around the joint, allowing the light to be directed precisely where you want and need it most.
Designer Philippe Malouin describes Bilboquet as "a luminaire for millennials and Generation Z", with a versatile nature that adapts to the new way of thinking about the home today. The delightful luminaire flexibly fits different spaces and situations: use it in the home office, living room, or studio as a spotlight.
By the way, this clever lamp gets its name from the bilboquet game invented in France in the 1500s. The rules are quite simple: a ball attached to the end of a wooden stick is thrown into the air and then tried to be caught back in its place. Design Stories' editorial team doesn't recommend trying the same trick with the Bilboquet lamp, but otherwise, we recommend giving the game a try—a great activity for a summer day!
