Color, crowds & creativity: Milan Design Week 2025
We sent a photographer into the heart of Milan to capture the spirit of design week beyond the fairgrounds. The result? A visual roundup full of color, creativity, and good vibes — from Marimekko’s vibrant showcase to dynamic exhibitions by Muuto and Hem, plus plenty of people, parties, and unforgettable moments along the way.

Laila Gohar is a New York-based chef and artist. The bedroom-themed capsule collection curated by Gohar for Marimekko will be launched in September 2025.
At the heart of Marimekko's immersive installation were the bedroom and the rituals that take place in bed, embodied by an 18-mattress floor bed that filled the entire foyer of Teatro Litta.
Unpacking Hem: 10 Years in the Making was a dynamic exhibition at Capsule Plaza that explored the question, “What is this Hem?” In the spotlight, the Experiment chair by Yrjo Kukkapuro.
Hem’s Knuckle table lamp is a sculptural luminaire designed by David Taylor.

For Milan Design Week 2025, Hermès installed its new staging at La Pelota.

At Milan Design Week, the Habitare Materials & Objects exhibition at Alcova showcased 14 contemporary and distinctive Finnish design brands and designers.
Curated by Päivi Helander together with Maria Klemetti Laine and Jussi Laine of NEMO Architects, the exhibition featured materials and objects shaping the future of design. In the foreground is the Days of Summer pendant light by Mölinä.
