TOP 5: The most inspiring new products

In August, Finnish Design Shop welcomed a collection of novelties that prepares the home for autumn – it's time to enjoy vibrant colored textiles, atmospheric lighting, and the most beautiful everyday tableware. Take a look at our fresh picks from the month of August!

1. Iittala: Taika anniversary mug

Iittala's new dark-hued Taika mug was designed to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the beloved Taika series. In addition to enjoying the slowly steaming drink, the cup's whimsical illustration leads you to the mystical fantasy world. The story of the pattern drawn by Klaus Haapaniemi is based on the landscape Haapaniemi saw as a child: the cranes walking in a peat bog with water lilies floating around them. The anniversary Taika mug is only available for a limited time, so grab yours quickly!

2. HAY: Été duvet cover

The colder weather invites you to warm up under the sheets – and what would be more relaxing than slow mornings in new, clean duvet covers? HAY's sweet Été bed linens add a touch of fresh stripes and sunny summer memories to the interior. The duvet cover and pillowcases are made from Oeko-Tex certified cotton, which guarantees a lovely soft yet crispy feel. The captivating range of HAY-colors will delight this fall not only in bedding but also in bath textiles, among many other things.

3. Paper Collective: SDO posters

When you want a little change to your interior, you should turn your attention to the walls. Paper Collective's new Il Sistema Degli Oggetti posters are designed by talented Milanese studio Studiopepe – their illustration balances the abstract work and the figurative setting. The arranged pieces of tableware and cutlery evoke images of colorful table settings but leave just the right amount of room for imagination and interpretation. The fresh tones and bold shapes of the charismatic posters bring a dose of mood boost to the walls.

4. Juslin Maunula: Cushions

Juslin Maunula is a Finnish design studio and brand founded by Laura Juslin and Lilli Maunula in 2015 – later, in 2022, Juslin Maunula won the Young Designer of the Year award. August brought Juslin Maunula's textiles also as part of Finnish Design Shop's selection: unique cushions are dominated by graphic pieces and playfully visible seams. The interplay of beautiful colors charms both as a companion for the sofa or bed  – plus there are also floor poufs in the selection!

5. New Works: Material floor lamp

Sit down with your favorite book, turn on the floor lamp and relax! The lamps of the Material family by New Works are favorites of many, and no wonder: the minimalist lamps that play with different materials fit many homes and interiors. We are happy to announce that the long-time favorite is now also available as a floor version. The series includes lampshades made of glass, wood, metal, marble, ceramics, and concrete – which one would you choose?
