As autumn rolls in, it's looking more vibrant than ever – at least if viewed through the eyes of HAY. Dive into the latest pieces from HAY’s autumn 2024 lineup, where Spanish designer Marc Morro’s Taburete 8 bar stools are just one of many highlights.
THE FALL 2024 ARRIVALS from HAY, one of the leading brands in contemporary Danish design, has arrived at Finnish Design Shop’s online store.
As always with HAY, you’ll find a mix of neutral tones and fun, colorful pieces – this season, different shades of green can be found across various products. While colors may fade from the landscape as autumn rolls on, they can thankfully keep thriving indoors in all their full brilliance!
Stools like building blocks
One of the standout pieces from HAY’s autumn lineup is the Taburete 8 bar stool. Its raw, straightforward design evokes the simplicity of building blocks, a feeling heightened by the bright color options.
The name Taburete 8 reflects the journey of Spanish designer Marc Morro, who went through eight prototypes before finding the perfect balance of form and comfort.
The industrial aesthetic of the Taburete 8 is underscored by its frame made of painted steel tubes, featuring prominently visible footrests. The wooden seat, veneered with oak, adds a warm contrast to the metal. The seat’s beautifully curved shape is achieved by simply fastening it securely onto the steel frame.
Colorful storage solutions
When it comes to storage, one of the season’s highlights is the Facet cabinet designed by Stefan Scholten, made from recycled plastic. This versatile sliding-door cabinet works equally well as a bedside table in the bedroom or as a side table in the living room. It’s even designed to be suitable for damp environments. The Facet cabinets are available in two different heights.
Another clever storage solution is the Colour Rack, a clothes rack that’s unmistakably the work of design studio Muller Van Severen – the blend of joyful colors and bold, unexpected shapes is a signature of the Belgian duo. The series includes two differently shaped coat racks: one with a curvy S shape and another with a C shape, both made from glossy powder-coated steel.
Living room masterpieces
This autumn, the beloved Quilton sofas by Doshi Levien have been elevated – literally. The new Quilton Lift series introduces sofas and daybeds that stand on a solid wood base. The combination of the generously soft padding and the airy leg structure creates an irresistibly charming contrast! The overall design of the sofas continues the familiar, much-loved plush style of the Quilton series.
The Shim coffee tables, designed by Jonas Trampedach, emerged from experiments in metal bending. The most outstanding feature of these round steel tables is the clever joint that connects the three legs, achieved by slicing and bending the metal. Shim tables are equally at home next to your sofa, in a café, or in a public lounge – and, as expected from HAY, there’s a color for everyone, whether you lean toward neutrals or something more daring.
Illuminating the season
Autumn’s glow gets an upgrade with HAY’s latest lighting designs.
The Brim pendant light, which combines modern and traditional styles with its ribbed glass shade, is the result of a collaboration between Portuguese designer Rui Pereira and Japanese designer Ryosuke Fukusada.
The sculptural Drome table lamp, designed by Danish Christian Juhl, is another lighting highlight.
Two delightfully versatile lighting all-rounders are the industrially inspired Cupola by John Tree and the sleek, minimalist Ono by Aspekt Office.
Cupola’s agile and compact design is available as a desk lamp, wall lamp, and clip lamp, offering flexible options for various spaces. Meanwhile, the elegant Ono flush-mount lights can be installed on the ceiling or wall, bringing a modern touch to any room.
Bright accents
Finally, a quick peek at HAY’s accessory arrivals: a colorful array of essential items for both home activities and life on the go. From candleholders to throws, the collection invites you to ease into the year’s coziest moments – think candlelit evenings wrapped in soft blankets. But first, why not grab a water bottle, head out, and savor the rich colors of autumn?
