Wooden furniture and different shades of red were in the spotlight at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. Design Stories visited the fair to discover the freshest new designs for spring 2025 – check out our top picks!

THE STOCKHOLM FURNITURE FAIR in February 2025 once again proved to be a source of inspiration, showcasing exciting new interior trends and innovative designs. While some major Danish brands have shifted their focus to 3 Days of Design held in June in Copenhagen, Stockholm remained a vibrant hub for creativity. Many Swedish brands embraced the opportunity to present their collections in stylish showrooms and boutiques across the city, and numerous exhibitors filled the fairgrounds with fresh ideas and designs.

A few key trends stood out: just like last year, various shades of red and orange-red remained prominent. Organic wooden furniture also made a strong appearance with flowing, curved, and irregular shapes seen in table and stool legs. Mixing different wood tones was another highlight, either combining two distinct wood types or playing with varying shades of the same material, contrast and texture took center stage.
We’ve gathered some of our favorite new pieces from the Stockholm Furniture Fair below – some are already available at Finnish Design Shop, while others will be arriving later this spring!

Paper Bar by Fyra
Helsinki-based design studio Fyra made a statement in Stockholm with its Paper Bar which was undoubtedly the most stylish gathering spot at the fair. Designed in collaboration with Finnish and Scandinavian brands dedicated to local materials and the fusion of craftsmanship with industrial production, the bar was a sophisticated showcase of thoughtful design.
Paper, an essential material in creative industries, was at the heart of the concept. The all-white bar was designed to symbolize the moment just before creation – like a blank canvas waiting for ideas to take shape.
String Furniture
String stand stood out with its striking gray-green palette. The highlight was the String System with its fresh color: a deep charcoal gray that subtly shifts between green and gray depending on the lighting. Designed to seamlessly integrate with the existing shelving system, this carefully considered shade is the first new color introduced to the collection since 2018.
The Center Center storage system, designed by the Swedish design house Form Us With Love, is a playful new addition. Originally created for the studio’s own office, this modular metal system is both clever and highly functional, making it a great choice for dividing spaces. Currently, it's only available for contract projects through Finnish Design Shop's Contract Sales, but we really hope to see it in homes in the future!
Another exciting update comes from String Pocket, which now features four new colors inspired by different areas of Stockholm: Nybroblå, Tegnergrön, Sergelgrå, and Oxtorgsröd.

Fogia
Fogia's latest designs draw inspiration from past decades. Pico armchair by Andreas Engesvik plays with proportions in a delightful way: the slender legs and lightweight structure contrast with its plush, inviting comfort. The tubular frame and skillful use of leather evoke the Bauhaus era and the style of the 1950s.
Carina Seth Andersson’s Cube vase which was originally designed in 2018 has been updated with fresh new colors. The vase now glows in soft, milky shades of mocha, ochre, linen, and rose.
Atelier Sandemar
Atelier Sandemar presented a stunning tabletop display cabinet, perfect for storing and showcasing all the treasures in the home. The house-like Moon cabinet is available for a limited time. Another highlight was a new dining table made from beech and featuring a linoleum tabletop in different colors, offering both style and versatility.

Joy Objects
Joy Objects drew attention with its striking neon yellow booth, setting the stage for Fredrik Paulsen’s industrial-style furniture. The recycled aluminum table, chair, and shelves have been seen in previous years, but this time, the collection included a new addition: a sleek and sturdy bar stool available in two heights. The white stools can also be customized in various bold color combinations upon request. One thing’s for sure – this furniture brings anything but boredom!

Maze Interiör
Maze has expanded its popular Pythagoras shelf bracket into a larger, more eye-catching version named Pathagoras. Designed to stand out in both private and public spaces, this bold bracket is available in glossy black, white, and silver, as well as a unique terracotta shade named Calahari. A shimmering copper-toned shelf panel is also in the way – something we look forward to!

Studio Roosa Ryhänen
At the Greenhouse section, Roosa Ryhänen’s vibrant and whimsical furniture stole the show. She first caught our attention already at last fall’s Habitare fair – it’s always inspiring to see young designers with such a distinctive style. Her playful, curving, and colorful wooden furniture showcase a bold creative vision, and we’re excited to see where she takes it next!

Pilke Lights
Originally a Finnish but now part of Swedish Maze Interior, Pilke Lights is known for its signature luminaires made from birch veneer slats. The collection has expanded with Daisy, a floral-inspired pendant designed by Janne Uusi-Autti. This new pendant lamp is made from ultra-thin, water-cut birch veneer pieces.
Pilke Lights also represented a prototype table lamp by Tuukka Halonen, combining birch veneer with a glass base. We can't wait to see this design join the collection!

Gärsnäs
One of the most impressive armchairs was found in the Gärsnäs' exhibition booth. Designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the HidaHida armchair beautifully blends Japanese architectural principles with traditional Swedish craftsmanship, featuring delicate pleats and expertly curved wood.

Another standout was the Judith coat rack and shoe rack by Studio Stockholm. These pieces prove that entryway storage can be practical and effortlessly elegant at the same time! The entire Gärsnäs collection is available through Finnish Design Shop's Contract Sales.
Älvsjö Gård
Right next to the Stockholm Furniture Fair, Älvsjö Gård is known as a space where industrial design meets art. The exhibition showcased a limited collection of furniture and objects, highlighting craftsmanship, creativity, and experimentation – the perfect place to catch the latest design trends!

This year, nature-inspired wooden furniture was a strong presence seen in everything from Anna Maria Øfstedal Eng’s sculptural shelves to Niklas Runesson’s organic-shaped table. Metal also played a key role, particularly in Jenny Nordberg’s stylish recycled aluminum furniture.
Monochromatic design made an impact as well. A good example is Simon Mattisson’s imaginative 3D-printed sculptures, which showcased a bold and artistic take on the current trend.
