HAY Hee chair, black
The HAY Hee and Palissade furniture have taken over Franckly's list of most followed outdoor furniture. The table is HAY's Terrazzo, and the vase HAY's Bottoms Up.

HAVE YOU GIVEN YOUR BALCONY A MAKEOVER or got rid of a gazebo, leaving its dining set gathering dust? Now is the perfect time to find a new home for any outdoor furniture you no longer need, as many are deep in planning their summer decor. And what's more, you might already have a swarm of potential buyers on Franckly, Finnish Design Shop's marketplace for pre-loved design.

At Franckly, buyers can use the Follow feature to help them snag their dream designs, but it also comes in handy for the sellers: the number of followers a given product has is shown as "potential buyers" on each product page – for example, the HAY Hee lounge chair has nearly 100 of them!

Currently, the most followed piece of outdoor furniture is the Hee lounge chair in black.

1. Hee patio furniture

Year after year, HAY's Hee is one of the most popular outdoor furniture series – an naturally, many also seek them out secondhand. Named after its designer, Hee Welling, the series has a graphic yet delicate and airy appearance, and it includes metal bar stools, lounge chairs, and dining chairs. The classic black and white outdoor chairs are among the most followed.

And psst! HAY's Palissade furniture also has a firm following on Franckly.

Eero Aarnio Mushroom stool
Eero Aarnio's Mushroom stool, made of natural rattan, can be used as a seat, footstool, or small table. The armchair is called Elephant Boot.

2. Mushroom stool

Mushroom, also known in Finnish as Juttujakkara, is one of the oldest pieces of furniture designed by Eero Aarnio. Since the multifunctional stool is made of natural rattan, it requires a bit of TLC and proper storage (you shouldn't leave it out in the rain, for example). Furthermore, small variations inherent to natural materials and craftsmanship are characteristic of rattan furniture, which is especially true for pre-loved pieces. When selling your design gems on Franckly, be sure to take good, clear photos and describe all details as precisely as possible in the listing description!

Vitra Panton Chair
The Panton chair is made from weather-resistant polypropylene. Moreover, the material makes the chair's molded seat slightly flexible, thereby increasing its seating comfort.

3. Panton Chair

Did you know that Vitra's iconic Panton Chair is also suitable for outdoor use? The plastic chair is made from matte-finish, dyed-through polypropylene, which is UV-protected and doesn't mind the rain. Verner Panton designed the chair in the 1960s, but it wasn't until 1999 that Vitra began manufacturing the chair from polypropylene according to Panton's original plans. Especially with vintage chairs, it's important to be cautious, as over the years, the Panton chair has been made from various materials – for instance, the glossy Panton Chair Classic is not suitable for outdoor use.

Parolan Rottinki Aulis hanging chair, black
The Aulis hanging chair by Parolan Rottinki ensures a relaxed atmosphere on the terrace or balcony.

4. Aulis hanging chair

The Aulis hanging chair, made of rattan, is a Finnish classic, named after its designer and the founder of Parolan Rottinki, Aulis Herranen. Each swing chair is handcrafted, resulting in slight variations between them – a detail worth highlighting in your listing. In swings painted black or white, differences are less noticeable because the natural material's color variations are not visible. The natural-colored swing has the most followers, indicating that many particularly value the character that age brings to rattan!

Flowerpot VP9 portable table
The cordless Flowerpot lamp can be taken along to light up, say, garden parties.

5. Flowerpot VP9 lamp

Also designed by Verner Panton in the 1960s, the iconic Flowerpot lamp got a modern twist in 2020 with a slick rechargeable update, making it a perfect companion for the great outdoors. This cordless marvel effortlessly transitions from one spot to another, shining a light on everything from off-grid cabin retreats to those garden dinners that just don't want to end.

Since its debut, the Flowerpot has seen a bit of a revamp; on the secondhand market, you might snag one with the original micro-USB setup or the newer model boasting a magnetic charger. Don't forget to highlight this detail when you're putting it up for sale!
