Festive decor the Marimekko way: Bows on the tree and gold on the table!

1. Classic patterns for the Christmas tree

This year, trend-savvy decorators bedeck their trees with adorable bows and ribbons. If you tend to save and reuse wrapping materials, satin ribbons from last year will do the trick – and do it well, might we add – but you could also use fabric scraps from DIY projects. Go all in and let other baubles have a rest this year, if you dare.

2. Try something new in your table setting

Dare to be different and try something entirely new for your festive table setting. A champagne tower is a classic, but, be honest, how many times have you actually built one? Or if you want to go more avant-garde, how about an elegant cheese tower instead?

Those not fond of champagne or cheese can experiment with the table setting by mixing Oiva tableware in different colours and patterns. Marimekko believes that the quickest way to make something festive is to add a bit of glimmering gold, and therefore their holiday range features the Tiiliskivi and Kuusikossa patterns with gorgeous gold accents. 3. Set the scene for lounging
