The beloved Taika set from Iittala is turning ten years old. In honor of the celebration, the set will be expanded with new products, and a collector’s mug, available until the end of 2017, will be released. In Taika, Klaus Haapaniemi’s original and recognizable illustrative style combines with the Aika dishes designed by professor Heikki Orvola. The rich world of patterns completes the understated design of the dishes with style.
”At the start of the design process, my vision was a collection of products with a mood born of Nordic aesthetics. I wanted to include mystery and playfulness in the set’s decorative world. The core thought behind Taika is linked to originality and authenticity,” Haapaniemi has said.
”I wanted to include mystery and playfulness in the set’s decorative world.”
”The set is a carefully crafted modern whole which has over the years found its path into more new homes, where it has achieved the status of a timeless and significant collection.”
The anniversary mug is a fantastic gift idea and a valuable collector’s product. In the mug’s artwork, the Taika set’s owl is spreading its wings and ready for flight. You can find ten flowers in the mug pattern, one for each year of Taika. The flower repeats as a special stamp on the base of the mug.
